The people voted for full Brexit, David.
52 per cent of our country, and 48 per cent of our community voted to leave the European Union.
We voted for full Brexit and it is clear that the current White Paper does not deliver this.
As a Committee Chair, you have a final opportunity, before the summer recess, to support full Brexit.
I strongly urge you to use every opportunity, be it in parliament, in the party, in public, to tell the Prime Minister to deliver full Brexit.
When you meet the Prime Minister on Wednesday please ask her these questions:
- Does the ‘common rule book’ block free trade deals with countries that want regulatory alignment with their markets like the United States, India, and Brazil?
- Will EU citizens be given priority over other citizens when applying for visas?
- Will the European Court of Justice play any role in the United Kingdom?
If the answer to these questions does not deliver full Brexit then the Government’s position must change.
I strongly urge you to respect the referendum result and stand up for full Brexit.
